Stable Boarding & Property Guidelines

It is important to adhere to the farm rules for both the safety of the animals and for your own safety and enjoyment of the facilities.

Parking- to the right of the barn lane where specified when conditions permit
Bathroom Privileges- please ask
Barn Hours- Anytime from 7am to 9pm
Riding Arena- Please check the riding schedule posted in the barn. Write the times you wish to use the arena in available time slots.
Owner takes proper care of his/her own horse
No running, screaming, abusive behaviour or language
Children under 7 must be supervised
No smoking
Feeding times- 2 flakes of hay per horse 3 times a day spaced evenly. Pasture grass during summer. Sweet feed daily in the morning, plus supplements upon owner request.

Boarding Facility Responsibilities:

Provide Hay, Feed, Bedding
Fresh water & clean buckets
Clean stalls
Turn out
Safe Fences
Safe pastures (toxic weeds, nails, glass, etc.)
Safe handling (always use a lead rope)
Safe storage of barn tools
Insurance of barn
*Exercising 3 times per week- *Can be arranged as an additional service.

Horse Owners Responsibilities:

All vet bills
All hoof care
Worming (2 to 4 times per year)
Grooming, training and exercising your horse (*unless otherwise arranged.)
Vaccinations, supplements and medical supplies
Tack
30 days notice is required when vacating the barn.
Insurance of Animal

The boarder acknowledges that Spirit Reins Ranch is not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage to any boarders’ property or animal while boarding at the facility
Spirit Reins Ranch reserves the right to call a veterinarian if a boarder seems to be in distress and the owner cannot be reached.
Spirit Reins Ranch reserves the right to give notice to any boarder who does not comply with the stable guidelines.

Cancellation Policy:

Spirit Reins Ranch Cancellation Policy

We require 12 hours cancellation notice for private lessons, 24 hour notification is required for group bookings and trail rides. If a student does not show up without proper notice the regular lesson fee will apply. If weather is unsuitable to ride students will be given an unmounted lesson in the barn. Unmounted lesson topics can include grooming, clipping and bathing techniques; parts of the horse; proper equipment care and management; stable management, health issues; bandaging the horse, teeth care, hoof care etc.

Please read the cancellation policy over and ask any questions you have by email or by phone. Please sign or have your parents sign and date the cancellation policy.

Protective head gear & footwear must be worn

INITIAL EACH ITEM BELOW AFTER READING AND UNDERSTANDING THE ITEM

I Understand there are Inherent DANGERS, HAZARDS and RISKS, (collectively called RISKS) associated with Equine Activities and
injuries resulting from these “RISKS” are a common occurrence.

I Acknowledge that the Inherent “RISKS” of Equine Activities mean those DANGEROUS conditions which are an integral part of Equine
Activities, including but not limited to:

The propensity of any equine to behave in ways that might result in injury, harm or death to persons on or around them and to potentially
collide with, bite or kick other animals, people, or objects.

The unpredictability of an equine’s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movement, tremors, vibrations, unfamiliar objects, persons or
other animals and hazards such as subsurface objects.

The potential for other participant (s) to act in a negligent manner that might contribute to injury to themselves or others, such as failing
to act within their ability or to maintain control over an equine.

I Freely Accept and Fully Assume All Responsibility for the Inherent “RISKS” and the possibility of personal injury, death, property
damage or loss resulting from my Participation in Equine Activities.

I Acknowledge that it remains my Sole Responsibility to act in such a manner as to be responsible for my own safety and to Participate
Within My Own Limits.

In addition to consideration given for my Participate in Equine Activity, I and my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns
(collectively called my “Legal Representatives”) agree

To Waive All Claims that I might have against the “HOST”; and

To Release the “HOST” from Any and All Liability for any loss, damages, injury, or expense that I or my “Legal Representatives” might suffer
as a result of my Participation due to any cause whatsoever including any NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE “HOST”; and

To HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE “HOST” from any and all liability for property damage or personal injury to any third party which
might result from my Participation in Equine Activities.

I understand that by giving my child permission to participate in summer horse camp that she/he will follow the safety rules and regulations of the Stable. This includes strict adherence to all health and safety regulations set out by Health Canada related to the prevention of COVID-19 (ie. Social distancing, hand washing, & staying home if sick). My child is aware that safety equipment such as proper boots and a helmet must be worn during riding and equestrian activities.

*All safety precautions are to be followed while on the stable property.
